BS25999 is the emerging standard for Business Continuity Management. It is scheduled to be published late in 2006 and early in 2007, in two parts.

It will have a major impact upon BCM as a whole, and will undoubtedly become a world wide force very quickly indeed.

This is the first regular newsletter dedicated to this standard.

This portal will become a major hub for individual news items, which in turn will be aggregated into a periodic newsletter.

Your input is always appreciated, so please feel free to contact us directly or via the comment forms onboard. All suggestions and ideas for new facilities are welcome.

BSI are offering the standard online via their distributor, Standards Direct. See Standard Direct's BS25999 Download Page

For sufferers of online technophobia it can be obtained on paper via their main site BSI Global

Finally, it is offered with a number of BCM support items as part of the BS 25999 Toolkit

  • We are currently testing the draft version of our BS25999 dedicated Forum. Please feel free to contribute and comment when it is published.
  • As the business continuity world awakens to the implication of the new standard, sites, services and resources are already beginning to appear.

  • The first dedicated website appears to be 25999continuity.com, narrowly pipping us to pole position! Another early runner is BS 25999 BCM from W3J, although this strictly speaking is a subsite. The first PAS56 site was pas56.com, which now covers both BS25999 & PAS56.

  • When a sufficient number of web resources emerge, we will review them in some detail within a specific section.

  • General: Standardization
  • BSI state that it is for: anyone with the responsibility for business operations and the continuity of such operations from board directors and chief executives through all levels of the organization.
